After the album release and Incineratour we’re now working on a couple of projects which should hopefully be cool as something which is very cool indeed – more details when we can sneak them past our benevolent overlord at Armalyte HQ. Suffice to say that one of them rhymes with ‘zthe znext zalbum’.

If you want a really good time sink check out Minecraft at minecraft.net – it’s about 8 quid to buy and it’s really bizarrely addictive. The short version is that you mine stuff out in a randomly generated 3D world and build items and run away from monsters. Obviously it’s a lot better than it sounds… It’s only in the alpha stages but if you buy it now you won’t have to pay for the full version. Result.

The album is mixed and just needs to be mastered. The secret remixes are underway. The artwork and promotional material is being worked on. The photoshoot is on the cards.

In an unprecedented turn of events, Digicore might just have managed to pull our collective fingers out and get something done.

Work on the new tracks is going pretty well although I’ve been slightly distracted recently. Lyrics have never been my favorite part of the whole ordeal and I’m still struggling to come up with anything decent. I’ve got a couple finished and I’m recording them as they’re written so hopefully it shouldn’t take forever to get the album finished. I can’t wait to release it – I think it’s a million times better than Self-Armageddon. I’m strongly considering releasing it for free, possibly via a torrent or something. I’ll have to have a think on that one

I’ve been getting back into some live synth playing – I’m playing some gigs with Action Directe and I’ve joined AFX (head to our Myspace page and find them in our top friends). It’s nice to have a change in style and requirements. It’s also helping me find the drive to write yet more new material.

I recently got rid of my Machinedrum. Great piece of kit but I didn’t use it enough to justify keeping it. I got myself an NI Maschine to replace it and I’m getting some mad sounds out of it. I’m looking forward to using it on the next bunch of new tracks.

Another good couple of time-sinks have been Supreme Commander and Dwarf Fortress (possibly the best game ever coded). Digicore heartily recommend the fuck out of Dwarf fortress.

I’m currently getting in to breakcore in a big way. I’ve been writing some stuff that’s pretty good (I think) – glitchy, distorted and fun, fun, fun. The problem is that it doesn’t work for digicore. There’s no where for any other instruments to fit in. Maybe I’m just not trying hard enough.

Another thing that’s causing trouble is my attention span. It is roughly on par with that of a retarded goldfish. A track that starts out as a heartfelt plea from a soul wracked in tortured agony turns into a gabber-metal speedfest with chipmunk vocals because I thought it would be funny.

In order to build on our momentum and try and address these issues I will be working on some remixes of our tracks. If anyone else wants a crack, let me know. Once I have a few together I’ll release them as an EP and we can all get on with our lives.

Btw i heartily recommend going away and looking up ‘Nailbomb Cults’. There’s a live set from 2007 floating around that rocks my socks.

But now it really is just about done. 17 tracks now, each one a carefully honed- no, wait, each one held together with spit and gaffa tape. And beer. And porn. We have everything ready in place to release it to all major online distribution services (iTunes etc.) – I guess we’re looking at about 2 months until you can buy it. We should be sending out press copies in the next month (if you’re a press type person and want a copy please get in touch)

Oh yeah, I nuked the forum because it was filling up with ads for russian porn. It’ll bounce back next time I have the time (and inclination) to sort out a replacement.

We appear to have taken a spontanious rest from the core over the past few months. Steve’s been doing this, I’ve been doing this and the other two have perhaps been doing each other (although I can provide no evidence to support this).

Well the core are back. You may have noticed the new songs we’ve released (if not, head to the audio page). I intend to up our productivity from ‘fuck all’ to ‘well at least it’s something’. To do this I’m going to stop being so anal about mixes and just release stuff when it sounds cool. You can probably consider everything we release in the coming months to be demos. It’ll make me feel better anyway.

Like a furious retard emerging from a train wreck to bring misery to the other survivors, I will continue my quest until death grants merciful release.

Another thing i need to add is that you’ll probably find us being a bit schitzophrenic inconsistent with musical styles. This is because I am easily distracted by the aural equivalent of shiny things.
