…and I’ve got nothing to do. Time for a Digicore update.

Work on the new tracks is going pretty well although I’ve been slightly distracted recently. Lyrics have never been my favorite part of the whole ordeal and I’m still struggling to come up with anything decent. I’ve got a couple finished and I’m recording them as they’re written so hopefully it shouldn’t take forever to get the album finished. I can’t wait to release it – I think it’s a million times better than Self-Armageddon. I’m strongly considering releasing it for free, possibly via a torrent or something. I’ll have to have a think on that one

I’ve been getting back into some live synth playing – I’m playing some gigs with Action Directe and I’ve joined AFX (head to our Myspace page and find them in our top friends). It’s nice to have a change in style and requirements. It’s also helping me find the drive to write yet more new material.

I recently got rid of my Machinedrum. Great piece of kit but I didn’t use it enough to justify keeping it. I got myself an NI Maschine to replace it and I’m getting some mad sounds out of it. I’m looking forward to using it on the next bunch of new tracks.

Another good couple of time-sinks have been Supreme Commander and Dwarf Fortress (possibly the best game ever coded). Digicore heartily recommend the fuck out of Dwarf fortress.

My update-fu has been weak for many months so here’s some new content:

We’re booking gigs again -hooray! we’ve got a couple booked at the moment with a few more in the pipeline. If you want us to play at your venue/play with your band/play with ourselves please get in touch via the CONTACT PAGE.

We’re writing another album - We have 15 songs recorded and awaiting vocals. It’s possible that we’ll be releasing it before the end of the year.

We’ve added some new songs to the myspace – Including a preview of the new album called ‘The end of days’

We’re doing some good for charity – In association with Sphere webzine we’re running Industrial Action – a charity remix album. More info HERE

I may well be putting up a blog post or two so keep your eyes peeled.
